The ILM Certificate in Executive Coaching & Developing Leadership and Mentoring is a dual
qualification which also incorporates the INLPTA NLP Diploma.
On completion of this course, you will receive two internationally recognised qualifications,
regulated by the awarding bodies ILM and INLPTA.
The programme is designed for people who wish to develop both professionally and personally,
those who are working to meet the need for effective executive coaching and mentoring within
their organisation or as independent coaches.
Mentoring and coaching are powerful tools for developing leadership capabilities but only if the
mentors and coaches possess the high level of knowledge, skills and behaviours required which this programme offers.
Coaching and NLP have become business and personal tools that are achieving outstanding results.
Coaching in its various specialties is evolving every day. NLP added to coaching gives an added
depth and range of tools and techniques.
Delegates who complete this programme are able to act as mentors and coaches with people at
all levels within an organisation up to senior management / executive levels.
These qualifications enable delegates to become more effective leaders.
This qualification comprises of two units:
The first develops the skills and knowledge required to be an effective coach or mentor including
the appropriate interpersonal, communication, planning and organisational skills needed to carry
out the relevant coaching and mentoring roles. It also examines the ethical issues that need to
be considered by people operating as coaches or mentors, as well as topics that are specifically
relevant to the roles.
The second unit is focused on coaching practice, ensuring that you utilise all the knowledge,
skills and behaviours you have developed during the Programme, and includes peer review and development of a coaching diary.
Assessment for this qualification requires candidates to apply what they have learnt in practical coaching
or mentoring interventions. Following this, delegates are required to reflect on and record their experiences
in a coaching or mentoring diary. It is through the combined development of knowledge and skills together with
practical coaching and mentoring activities that candidates capabilities and confidence is developed.
The main purpose of this qualification is to enable candidates to become highly effective in a coaching and mentoring role.
This ILM Programme provides a professional development route for managers or individuals with several years
experience in their role and those involved in leadership development who wish to open up new career routes for themselves.
Those who achieve the ILM Level 7 qualification are eligible to apply for full membership of ILM (MInstLM).
